Lansing Rent to Own is an independently owned homeownership education and connection platform created and operated by Alex Craig to help Greater Lansing residents understand and explore alternative and traditional paths to homeownership.
Some people need more time. Some have credit, income, savings, or life circumstances that do not fit neatly into conventional financing. Others may assume ownership is not realistic before understanding the paths that may exist.
The platform is early. We are building around real buyer demand and useful local information rather than claiming a mature marketplace or inventory that does not yet exist.
Alternative-homeownership information can be fragmented and confusing. People searching for rent to own, lease options, lease-purchase agreements, land contracts, seller financing, or traditional buyer programs may encounter very different structures described with similar language.
Lansing Rent to Own exists to explain those differences in a Greater Lansing context and help people ask better questions about the property, agreement, financing, responsibilities, risks, and path to purchase.
Our goal is to build a more useful Greater Lansing database around actual buyer demand and real alternative-homeownership opportunities—not simply populate pages with properties that may or may not be offered under those terms.

Alex Craig has been licensed in Michigan real estate since 2017 and is currently a Michigan real-estate broker. He has worked across more than 50 real-estate transactions involving buyers, sellers, and situations that do not always fit neatly into a standard transaction.
That work has included first-time homebuyers, lower-priced homes, properties needing repairs, MSHDA transactions, inherited and probate-related properties, land contracts, seller-financed transactions, and direct real-estate acquisitions where appropriate.
Since 2020, Alex has also created Michigan first-time-homebuyer and MSHDA educational content. Those videos have received more than 6,500 views online. Lansing Rent to Own grew from that same interest in making overlooked or misunderstood homeownership paths easier to understand locally.
Alex supports the platform's credibility, but Lansing Rent to Own is designed to become a useful local resource and platform—not a personal Realtor biography.
Evidence that supports the platform story without suggesting one person or structure has every answer.

Alternative-homeownership opportunities are inherently local. Home values, rents, inventory, local housing rules, rental registration or certification requirements, legal practices, lenders, available properties, and owner willingness can all affect what is practical.
Lansing Rent to Own is focused on Greater Lansing because the goal is to build something useful around the people, properties, professionals, and housing conditions that actually exist here—not simply create a national database with Lansing added to the URL.
That focus includes Lansing, East Lansing, Holt, Mason, Grand Ledge, DeWitt, and surrounding Greater Lansing communities already reflected across the site.
Not every household, property, or moment fits the same structure.
Lease-based arrangements that may include an option or agreement to purchase the home later.
Purchases where the property seller provides some or all of the financing.
Mortgage-based options including FHA, VA, USDA, MSHDA, conventional financing, and related resources.
An educational homebuyer-readiness framework for people who want traditional ownership but may need more time to prepare.
The structure should fit the situation—not the other way around.
Lansing Rent to Own is an independently owned Greater Lansing homeownership education and connection platform created and operated by Alex Craig. Achieve Real Estate does not own or operate Lansing Rent to Own.
Alex is a Michigan real-estate broker affiliated with Achieve Real Estate. If a transaction through Lansing Rent to Own involves licensed real-estate brokerage services, those services are provided through the applicable brokerage relationship and disclosures.
Using Lansing Rent to Own, reading its resources, or joining the Home Buyer List does not by itself create a real-estate agency relationship.
Today, Lansing Rent to Own is focused on understanding Greater Lansing buyer demand, explaining alternative paths, building useful educational resources, learning where demand exists, and developing the property-owner side over time.
We are starting with buyer needs because we do not want to pretend inventory exists when it does not.
The goal is to explain the structure actually being offered rather than group unlike opportunities under one loose label.
Over time, the goal is a more reliable local database of properties whose owners are actually open to alternative paths.
The long-term aim is a local place where someone can understand the major paths, find opportunities genuinely offered under alternative terms, understand the agreement being proposed, and make a more informed decision about what comes next.
This is the direction of the platform—not a guarantee that a particular property or opportunity will become available.
