1. Lansing Rent to Own's Role
Lansing Rent to Own is an independently owned homeownership education and connection platform created and operated by Alex Craig. The project was developed to help Greater Lansing residents explore alternative and traditional paths to homeownership, including Rent to Own, Land Contracts, traditional homebuyer programs, and preparation through Path to Ready™.
The platform grew from Alex's interest in making overlooked, misunderstood, or less-obvious homeownership paths easier to understand locally. It may provide education, maintain buyer-interest information, receive property submissions, support property discovery and notifications, and help users connect with owners, housing providers, real-estate professionals, and other appropriate parties. The platform may collect and transmit information without representing either side of a transaction. A connection or communication does not itself decide whom a real-estate licensee represents.
2. Lansing Rent to Own, Alex Craig, and Achieve Real Estate
Alex Craig owns and operates Lansing Rent to Own. Achieve Real Estate does not own or operate the platform. Alex is separately affiliated with Achieve Real Estate as a Michigan real-estate broker.
Licensed real-estate brokerage services, when applicable, are provided through the applicable brokerage relationship and disclosures. Achieve Real Estate is located at:
Achieve Real Estate3315 S Pennsylvania Ave
Lansing, MI 48910
This relationship does not make every website interaction a brokerage service, every visitor a client, or every property an Achieve Real Estate listing.
3. What Does Not, by Itself, Create Agency
None of the following, standing alone, establishes a listing agreement, seller agency, buyer agency, landlord representation, property-management relationship, or other brokerage relationship:
- Browsing or reading the website
- Joining the Home Buyer List or submitting buyer preferences
- Submitting a property
- Receiving emails, educational materials, or property notifications
- Expressing interest in or requesting information about a property
- Receiving information about an opportunity
- Being introduced to a property owner, buyer, landlord, manager, broker, or other party
Home Buyer List
Joining identifies preferences and interest. It is not a buyer-agency agreement, mortgage application, approval, or promise of representation.
Property submissions
Submission is not a listing agreement and does not establish seller agency, landlord representation, or property management. It does not obligate an owner to sell, lease, or offer particular terms.
Property inquiries and connections
Requesting or receiving information and being connected with another party do not create agency. Independent parties remain responsible for their own conduct, screening, applications, decisions, agreements, and privacy practices.
4. When a Brokerage Relationship May Arise
A separate brokerage relationship may arise in a particular transaction. If Alex Craig or another Achieve Real Estate licensee becomes involved in a licensed brokerage capacity, the applicable role, brokerage, services, duties, and agency relationship will be separately disclosed or established as required.
Lansing Rent to Own's website disclosure supplements—not replaces—the written disclosures or agreements required in an actual brokerage relationship. No language here guarantees that Alex Craig, Achieve Real Estate, or another licensee will represent a user.
5. Michigan Agency Disclosure and Confidential Information
Michigan's Occupational Code, including MCL 339.2517, addresses disclosure of available agency relationships and associated duties before a potential buyer or seller provides a licensee with confidential information specific to that person in a real-estate transaction.
Do not rely on this website page as a substitute for Michigan's statutory agency disclosure form or a transaction-specific agency agreement.
6. Property Information and Advertising
Future property pages may involve property owners acting directly, owners represented by another brokerage, owners represented through Achieve Real Estate, or other lawful arrangements. A property-specific page should identify the source and applicable brokerage role when known and required.
Michigan law, including MCL 339.2512e, imposes requirements on certain real-property advertising by real-estate brokers. Lansing Rent to Own should not label every property an Achieve Real Estate listing or a Lansing Rent to Own listing when that is not the actual relationship.
The presence of a property does not mean its ownership, condition, title, disclosures, proposed financing, screening, advertising, or agreement has been legally approved or independently verified by Lansing Rent to Own.
7. Professional Advice and No Guarantees
Users may seek independent real-estate, legal, lending, tax, title, inspection, insurance, and financial advice. Lansing Rent to Own does not guarantee representation, property availability, accuracy of every third-party statement, financing or qualification, acceptance, a lease, purchase, sale, closing, or legally valid third-party terms.
