This policy explains how Lansing Rent to Own handles information through this website and the homeownership-platform activities described below. Lansing Rent to Own is independently owned.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

We may collect information that you choose to submit, including your name, email address, desired locations, housing preferences, budget or timing information, property details, the type of ownership arrangement you are considering, and the contents of messages or inquiries.

Home Buyer List information may include buyer preferences and circumstances relevant to understanding the type of homeownership path a person is exploring. Property submissions may include an address, occupancy status, property type, desired timing, price expectations, condition information, and the submitter's stated interest in a traditional sale, rent-to-own, land contract, or seller financing.

Please do not submit Social Security numbers, bank-account information, tax returns, passwords, detailed mortgage account numbers, or confidential information about a specific transaction unless it is specifically requested through a secure process and you understand who will receive it.

Information collected automatically

When the site is hosted, the hosting provider and ordinary web-server infrastructure may process technical information such as an IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, timestamps, referral information, and security logs. The current site code does not load Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, session-recording software, or an advertising pixel.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information to operate and secure the site; maintain the Home Buyer List; respond to inquiries; review property submissions; understand Greater Lansing housing demand; identify potentially relevant opportunities; provide notifications a user has requested; facilitate user-requested connections; improve content and services; prevent misuse; keep appropriate records; and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use the site to provide credit-repair services or make mortgage-approval decisions. Information submitted through the platform does not itself establish a real-estate agency relationship.

3. How Information May Be Shared

Operational service providers

Information may be processed by providers that support website hosting, form delivery, email, security, data storage, or similar operations. The current forms are designed for Netlify-compatible processing. A provider receives information only as needed to perform its function and remains subject to its own terms and privacy practices.

User-requested connections

Some Lansing Rent to Own features are designed to help people connect with property owners and other parties involved with housing opportunities. When you request information about an opportunity, express interest, ask to be connected, respond to an opportunity, or otherwise invoke a connection feature, we may provide information reasonably necessary to facilitate that connection to the applicable property owner, landlord, property manager, real-estate professional, service provider, or other party handling the opportunity.

We seek to limit a connection to information reasonably necessary for the request. We do not intend to transmit an entire Home Buyer List profile when less information is sufficient. Once information is provided to an independent third party, that party may apply its own privacy, application, or screening practices.

Legal, safety, and business purposes

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, legal process, professional obligations, or a valid governmental request; protect rights, safety, property, or platform security; investigate fraud or misuse; or support a merger, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or other business transfer, subject to applicable law.

Advertising and unrelated marketing

The current site does not contain advertising pixels or an external analytics implementation. We do not currently disclose form contents to advertising platforms. If analytics, advertising technology, or unrelated third-party marketing is introduced, this policy and any required consent controls should be updated before that technology is activated.

4. Cookies, Analytics, and Technical Information

The website may use technical storage that is necessary for hosting, security, or basic site operation. The current code does not implement a cookie banner because it does not activate a nonessential analytics or advertising tag. A banner that does not actually control technologies would be misleading.

The code contains a local event-tracking scaffold that records event names in the page's in-memory dataLayer and dispatches browser events. No external analytics service currently receives those events. Event names should not contain raw form-field values, names, email addresses, property details, or confidential transaction information.

If nonessential tracking is added later, Lansing Rent to Own should evaluate applicable notice and consent requirements, update this policy, and provide functioning preference controls where required.

5. Communications and Your Choices

You may ask to correct or update information you submitted, stop optional communications, or request deletion of information, subject to legal, security, operational, and record-retention needs. An unsubscribe request does not prevent transactional or legally required communications.

Do not submit information about another person or property unless you have authority to do so.

6. Security, Retention, and Children

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards may be used, but no website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Information should be retained only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, applicable records, dispute resolution, security, and legal obligations.

The platform is intended for adults capable of evaluating housing and real-estate opportunities. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13.

7. External Sites and Policy Changes

Links to government agencies, lenders, brokerages, property providers, and other third parties do not make Lansing Rent to Own responsible for those parties' services or privacy practices. Review the policy of the site or party receiving your information.

This policy may be updated as the platform, technology, or legal requirements change. The updated date above identifies the version presented on this page.
